in most of these problems , the diameter of circle would be equal to the side of square or side of square will be equal to diameter of circle,
just identify it, and since the problem involves computation of area, you will need all dimensions of all sides that are requied to find area of a figure.
suppose, it would have been a rectangle, then the length of the rectangle would be given to you, and not just the breadth which you computed by deducing that the diameter is equal to side of square.
once you have all the required dimensions, it is just simple arithmetic, addition and subtraction of areas.
