Maggie has a piece of string that is 60 m she then divides those strings into 2 pieces in the ratio of 7:8. what is the length of the longer string doubled?

let the length be x

then (7x+8x)/15= 60

Is 4/9 greater than 1/3?

that is where lcm comes handy

lcm of 9 and 3 is 9

multiply it to both the numbers

4/9 *9 = 4

1/3*9 = 3

so 4/9 is greater

I don't understand how you could expand (1+2/3x)^n if you don't have the value of n. Even if I do plug in the formula (a^n+(n,1) a^n-1b) How do I get n alone?
